I enjoy everything about this pile! I can’t believe this has become my weekend drive car, but I always end up having a great time!

I was behind one during my commute yesterday. I really like the rear.

How is it as a budget “luxury” car?

It’s difficult to explain. I love it, and it happens to be the car that lead me to become an enthusiast. That said, I would NEVER recommend it, to anyone! EVER! It happens to push the right buttons for me. It’s a perfect example of buying the best car for you, rather than buying the best car for most.

The rear is super nice, especially at night and has some great designs that were well thought out. The 2004-2006 I mean, I’m not into the 2007-2009 rear since it comes across as a knockoff. I don’t mind a bit of ripping off, but I do have my limits.

I recommend the Amanti to people looking at older Avalons all the time. People who own the post-facelifts rave about them. Why wouldn’t you recommend it?

I’d never recommend my car to anybody, but that’s because you have to be fanatical and insane enough to recognize the driving experience justifies the repair costs. And most people can’t.

My father in law had one of those as his last vehicle before he died. I had a chance to drive it after he passed as I was between vehicles at the time. With barely over 100K on the clock the car felt nice and cushy and had plenty of pep without being fast. had good poise and ride quality and for the price bracket you really couldn’t beat the interior fit and finish and materials. That being said, if the car even smelled the slightest turn it would sway and wallow worse than any antique Cadillac I ever drove and when you a bump in the road you felt it for 2 miles. this was after the suspension was refreshed. The old shocks were worse.

Yeah, it’s incredible how zero the handling is on these, and I do have the older!

Because it is deceptively expensive and labor intensive to work on. Luckily they are pretty reliable, but it can’t be someone’s only vehicle unless they are good about maintenance, care, and an easy driver. Basically, it’s an old person car.

Is that the one with the Bentley bum? I’m kind of willing to give it a pass, because it reminds me of the rear on my 2000 Town Car.

The Amanti is probably the best looking ugly car ever. And it was probably the first actually decent car Kia made. Would I prefer an Azera? Absolutely. But given the chance, I would totally DD the hell out of an Amanti.
